Betavine 3rd Birthday Party and new deadline for the Chembe Urban Security Competition

On February 11, 2010 in the Forum Room at the Frontline Club in London it was standing room only as mobile developers, Vodafone staff and community partners gathered to celebrate Betavine’s 3rd Birthday Party.

Steve Wolak, founder and head of Betavine, unveiled the new design for the Betavine Social Exchange, and Sean Murphy, CEO of Chembe Ventures, gave the evening’s keynote presentation entitled From Ingenuity to Innovation: Africa Leapfrogging the 20th Century.

During the event Chembe Ventures also announced the extension of the deadline for the submission of entries to the Chembe Urban Security Competition. The new deadline is April 30th, and solutions may now be submitted for deployment in any Sub-Saharan African urban environment.
